"Five For Friday" with John Dufilho of Clifffs

Clifffs are a new indie rock/garage pop unit based in Dallas Texas featuring longtime drummer of The Apples In Stereo, John Dufilho on Vocals and Guitar. The bands debut album "Bill, Your Only Human" features 13 tracks that echo the spirits of 60's garage rock and 70's punk with a focus on catchy hooks and relentless energy. John shares some of his favorite songs in this weeks edition of "Five For Friday" but first check out the video for their new single "Volcano". Reg Presley's voice is weird and great. if i had it in me, I'd probably just scream all the time like King Khan (easily one of the best singers around) or Gerry Roslie from the Sonics, but my voice just doesn't do that. instead i get inspired by people with odd voices.

Based in West Lothia Scotland, Savage Cut have quickly been making a name for themselves with their experimental/post punk sound and no holds barred attitude. If I could play bass like anyone in the history of pop music, it would be Bob Fairfoull. Not technically brilliant but just honest pure rock and roll with attitude and one of my favorite bands.

The greatest live band that i have ever seen. Truly awe inspiring genius.

Must be up there with the "best songs I wish I had written" What a bass riff, and what an amazing tone.

Managed to see them on their last tour. Have been a fan since I was a kid and never thought I would see them live. All old guys but still totally on it.

"Teenage Rampage" by Sweet.

My first gig and I still love everything they did. Mick Tucker made me want to be a drummer more than anything in the world. Never quite managed to master it and played bass instead! Never quite managed to master that either but I get away with it!
