"Five For Friday" with Alessandro Vitaloni of Shining Dust

Shining Dust is a new Electropop Music Project founded by musician Alessandro Vitalon in Milan in 2013. Their debut album "Mirror" (available now from Seahorse Recordings (www.seahorserecordings.com) mixes electro-pop and trip hop with a goal to revise, expand and develop the traditional concepts of composition and musical arrangements. Alessandro shares some of his favorite songs in this weeks edition of "Five For Friday", but first enjoy the video for their track "Ligereza".

Simple Minds - Someone Somewhere In Summertime

One of my favourite songs, by one of my favorite bands and definitely my favorite vocalist! I learned how to sing from listening to Jim Kerr! One of the best new wave bands in the world with a great use of keyboards and wonderful beats! Guitarist Charlie Burchill is excellent but the greatest thing about them is Jim Kerr's voice. He has amazing extension and power shown in their live performance! That’s why I attached a live version!

Radiohead - Creep

Everything started with this song in the early ‘90s! Typical grunge sound coming from USA mixed with Brtitpop and Psychedelia from UK! Masterpiece in terms of atmosphere, lyrics, voice, guitar riff! Big impact on every musicians that starting making music in that period! The last real music revolution!

Pet Shop Boys - Rent

My favorite electro pop duo! This song is the synthesis of their geniality in terms of making electronic music! You can appreciate their great composition skills, their unique sound, the amazing voice of Neil Tennant and his way of using it! The Video Clip is one of my favorites in terms of grotesque images and their impact with a great interpretation of the british actress Margy Clarke.

The Cure - A Letter To Elise

One of the best examples of The Cure's style as this song is a great mix of dark, pop and many other genres that always gives their music a unique and fantastic double face of happiness and sadness. Robert Smith's voice here is one of the best I have ever heard and the music reaches one of the highest points in terms of ensemble!

Stone Temple Pilots - Interstate Love Song

It’s definitely the essence of a minimal and relaxing grunge style! Very simple track with big energy and impact on my mind! The best for my music conception! Love the guitar riff, the amazing voice and the vintage/grotesque video lip that shows off Scott Weiland's great charisma!
